An update of sorts

Now that it is all over, I can tell you. Marty lost his job. He was gainfully re-employeed within 2 weeks - making the same money for less work. I have to keep telling myself it happened for a reason. I haven't figured out that reason yet, but I am sure it will come to me.

Part of what pissed me off so much is that we were no longer going to be moving to Shreveport. I fell in love with the city while we were there, and I really mourned the loss of someplace we have never lived. Crazy, I know. I am to the point in my life where I feel like we need to settle down, buy a house and just live our lives. I feel like we are transients, looking for the perfect place to live. I thought we had found that in Shreveport, but we will have to wait to find out. Maybe we will go to Shreveport, maybe somewhere else. The company he works for now has 600 locations, and after they hired him they said that they can pretty much send him wherever he wants to go - we just need to wait for an opening.

I want a house where I can plant a garden. Had we known that we would stay in this town, we would have found a house to rent. We resigned our lease to avoid paying the month to month rent ($200 more a month) and so we are here for another year. I am going to try to grow some things on our balcony, but there isn't much sunlight there so I don't know if it will work.

We are pretty busy around here. Marty is in Nashville for training and my mom is here visiting for two weeks. Christian is in school, Alex and Ethan are doing school at home, and my mom and I are running all over town. Good times!

In the mean time, I will leave you with a picture of the view we had while camping this past weekend.

And what we woke up to each morning.
